Eyelid Lift

Eyelid lift (or blepharoplasty) is the preferred treatment for removing bags under the eyes or drooping eyelids, conditions that can add years to your appearance and may even impair your vision.  

Eyelid surgery may be performed under *local or twilight anesthesia.  Dr. Messa  will make tiny incisions along the natural lines of your eyelids through which excess fat, skin and muscle are removed.  The incisions are closed with fine sutures, which will leave scars that are practically invisible.

Most patients are back to their normal routines within days, although complete recovery may take a few weeks.  Swelling, bruising and discomfort are minimal and a normal part of the recovery process, and usually can be alleviated with cold compresses and appropriate medication.

* Twilight sedation is a light sleep.
* Local is just numbing the area, and you're totally awake.
